Education in USA - a country of opportunities

The best destination for a students to go for his higher education would be USA, due to its rich heritage, developed infrastructure and wide range of options, not to forget the degree that is recognized all over the globe. What more could a student ask for. USA surely is a land of opportunities; it has so much to offer that a student would be lucky and privileged to get admission in one of the USA universities.

It has a plethora of not just subjects and courses but also well reputed universities. Every year, thousands of students try and go to USA for higher studies. Standard tests Every university in USA follows one or the other standard tests that prevail. To get into a university in USA, one needs to score well in any one or more of the following tests:

  2. SAT - Scholastic Aptitude Test.
  3. GRE - Graduate Record Examination.
  4. TOEFL (for non Americans) - test Of English As Foreign Language
Most of these tests are designed to evaluate the skills and aptitude of a student rather than their depth of knowledge.

Financial aid - To support education financially, there are three main ways to do so. One is funding via university, second is funding via private source and third is funding via government sources. This financial help works on two grounds. Firstly, it is on the basis of your need that is they evaluate your yearly income and your paying capacity and then decide the amount. Secondly, it is on the merit basis. It is rewarded as a scholarship to the student based upon his academic performance and scores. Besides this, many students opt to earn while they study there. It’s a largely followed tradition for migrating students.
